Vietnam – Italy Foodtech Day 2025: Bridging Education, Research, and Business in the Era of Globalization

On April 22, 2025, Saigon Technology University (STU) was honored to successfully collaborate with the Consulate General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City and TIM Corp to organize the Vietnam – Italy Foodtech Day 2025 at the university campus.

This event holds special significance, aiming to introduce advanced technologies, showcase modern production models, and update participants on the latest trends in the global food industry. More than just a technology exhibition space, Vietnam – Italy Foodtech Day 2025 serves as an essential bridge connecting generations — from students and lecturers to experts, researchers, managers, and businesses — fostering knowledge sharing, experience exchange, and expanding career collaboration opportunities.

The program was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including representatives from the Consulate General of Italy, the Consulate General of Spain, the Consulate General of France, the Consulate General of the Philippines, and the Consulate General of Germany. On the partners' side, the event welcomed the Board of Directors from TIM Corp.
From the associations, representatives from the Vietnam Association of Food Science and Technology and the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association were also present.
In addition, the event featured the participation of various partners, including Trung Hai Technical Equipment Co., Ltd., Epta Vietnam Co., Ltd., Golden Gate Group, Denta Industrial Engineering and Trading Co., Ltd., Diep Gia Construction & Trading Co., Ltd., Vending Machines Vietnam Co., Ltd., Alluvia Vietnam (Xuan Ron Cho Gao Cocoa Co., Ltd.), and FOBE Co., Ltd.

From Saigon Technology University, the event welcomed members of the Founding Council, the University Council, the Supervisory Board, the Board of Presidents, and the leadership of various Departments, Faculties, Offices, Centers

The hosting of this event clearly demonstrated Saigon Technology University's role in strengthening the connection between education, research, and businesses. It also reaffirmed the university’s commitment to a training orientation closely linked with real-world production practices and the demands of the labor market in the era of global integration.

This year’s event received strong support from the Consulate General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City, the Italian Chamber of Commerce, as well as the consulates and chambers of commerce from countries such as Spain and France, along with many international organizations. These multilateral connections contributed to creating an academic, highly professional, and internationally collaborative environment.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Ngo Thi Thu Thuy, Chairwoman of the University Council of Saigon Technology University, shared:

"STU is a private university oriented towards application-based education. We are always concerned with ensuring that knowledge does not remain confined to the classroom but becomes a solid foundation for students as they enter the workforce. The Vietnam – Italy Foodtech Day 2025 is a realization of that aspiration, providing students with direct access to European technologies, opportunities to meet international experts, and a deeper understanding of their role within the food and F&B value chain. This event also marks one of the initial steps in our plan to build a 'Startup University' model at STU."

Mr. Tran Duong Xuan Vu – Founder and CEO of TIM Corp JSC – shared that the event not only provided new knowledge but also inspired students to pursue learning, research, and innovation. This is particularly important as Vietnam’s education sector is undergoing transformation, aiming to cultivate well-rounded individuals capable of entrepreneurship, innovation, and adaptability. TIM Corp JSC was a key partner accompanying STU in organizing the event, sponsoring equipment, and inviting experts to conduct workshops during the program.

  • Opening Ceremony: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM at Auditorium B

  • Campus Tour of STU and Exhibition Booths Showcasing Equipment and Machinery from Enterprises: 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM

  • 06 Workshops: Chocolate, Gelato, Pizza, Mixology, Food Safety, and Job Fair, taking place continuously from 10:15 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Cultural Performances and Scholarship Lucky Draw at the Central Stage: 5:00 PM

Vietnam – Italy Foodtech Day 2025 serves as a significant occasion for the academic community, businesses, and students to reflect on the development journey of the food industry, while jointly proposing innovative solutions, building sustainable development strategies, and promoting the value of Vietnamese food to the international market.
