Faculty of Civil Engineering  was set up in 1997 to train graded technicians at vocational level, college and university under industrial and civil engineering, road and bridge, water supply and drainage, project management and urban technology sectors.

Coupled with its regular training system, the faculty yet opens a college-university inter-training system for civil and industrial construction sector and works closely with non-regular engineering departments to train learners into construction engineers. On the momentum of economic integration, our faculty has signed cooperation with foreign universities such as KyodongUniversity, Catholic university of America to train its students and lecturers.

 PERSONNELS

 

       PhD Do Dao Hai, The head of the Department, is a senior lecturer of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering and Department of Civil Engineering of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. The Faculty’s tenured lecturer chosen mostly from excellent graduates of well-known universities of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology , Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, Da Nang University of Technology , Hanoi University of Civil Engineering. At present, the Faculty is home to 29 tenured lecturers, 4 of them are doctors, 19 masters, 1 architect, and 5 engineers. The young and dynamic lecturers are the connection for practical career activities, and also find their opportunities to study higher levels. Besides, the Faculty is instructed by experienced lecturers from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, TonDucThangUniversity. The faculty’s office is at room No 101C of SaiGon University of Technology, which sits on 180 Cao Lo Street, Ward 4, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City. The Department is run by a dean, a vice dean, and 2 clerks.

TRAINING PROGRAMS

            The Department’s training syllabuses are based on the Ministry of Education and Training’s frame syllabuses combined with practical targets from regions and areas, and future of socio-economic state. The thought in the training process is to update advanced knowledge revolving around the heart of professional knowledge so that graduates know how to apply their knowledge for practice, and attach the importance to the domains of informatics application and specialized English. For the intent of offering the initiative and professional knowledge to learners, the Department in the academic year of 2007-2008 designed the prepared paces on the programs of training and building up its instructors, investing in its facilities and specific books, whereby its learners can complete their syllabuses as per credits in the academic year of 2009-2010 for shifting from the year-based education system to the credit education system in the academic year of 2009- 2010) .

JOB OPERTUNITIES

            Learners, when admitted into the department, are studied by the way, by which they must do what after they graduated. Concretely:

  • Learners at vocational level may be supervisors, tracers, and surveyors.
  • Learners at college level shall have more career opportunities and can take a hand in groups of designers, and auditors for medium and small-scaled projects.
  • Learners at university level have to study the background knowledge, and update construction advancements so that they can work for every phase of small or big-sized projects.  Among their required qualification, design is remarkable since the requirement forces them to update unplanned knowledge, whereby they teach themselves to satisfy increasing demands of society.

STUDENTS’ ACTIVITIES

Our students actively participate in extracurricular activities such as building bridge and house in the strategy “Green Summer”, attending locales for construction.
