PERI Construction Exercise
Saigon Technology University is the first Vietnamese university - to participate in the PERI Construction Exercise
Mr. Pham Truong Giang and the students
From the first introduction of the PERI Construction Exercise (CE), which was during an interactive seminar with the Saigon Technology University (STU) in 2014, the professors and students were really attracted to the challenge of this educative competition.
STU is the first Vietnamese university participating in our educative competition. After many months of studying the assignment and developing the solution for the PERI CE 2015, the final submittal was received by PERI Headquarters in Germany last month. The STU student group consists of Mr Pham Dinh Quy, Mr Tran Ba Sang, Mr Nguyen Cong Nghia, and Mr Bui Van Luc. They received a lot of support and intensive guidance from Mr Pham Truong Giang – Lecturer of Civil Engineering Faculty of STU, who was the driving force behind STU’s participation in PERI CE 2015. Mr Giang said that this was a good practice opportunity for his students to approach modern system formwork technology, which is not widely used in the Vietnam market.
Furthermore, it could be considered as a good sign that the reputation of PERI system formwork is not only strong in developed markets, but is also expanding more and more in developing markets like Vietnam, where traditional formwork is still widely used.
We believe that through this Exercise, the students have become more knowledgeable and familiar with system formwork technology. In particular, we hope they will be able to apply it for their future careers and contribute to improving construction safety and productivity in Vietnam by applying system formwork.
