STU Students Win First Prize at the Food Innovation and Development 2024 Competition

The Food Innovation and Development (FID) 2024 competition, themed “The Future of Food,” was organized by the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (HUIT) in collaboration with the Vietnam Association of Food Science and Technology (VAFoST), the National Startup Support Center (NSSC), Next Challenge Foundation (South Korea), and BambuUP. Running from June to December 2024, the competition attracted 486 students presenting 122 projects/ideas from 27 universities, colleges, and high schools nationwide. Participants competed in three categories:

  1. Health-Focus: Products promoting health benefits.
  2. Food Security & Social Impact: Products addressing community impacts or food security issues.
  3. Problem-Solving Innovation: Products tackling business challenges.

On December 21, 2024, 133 students and 31 teams from 14 universities and colleges across the country gathered at the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City to participate in the final round of the Food Innovation and Development (FID) 2024 competition.

After surpassing nearly 100 teams in the preliminary rounds, Saigon Technology University (STU) had two teams advance to the finals in Category 3 - Problem-Solving Innovation: Team Crikara Pro and Team Green Shield.

In the end, both teams from Saigon Technology University (STU) won awards in the competition. Team Crikara Pro achieved an outstanding First Prize, while Team Green Shield received an Encouragement Prize.

 

The success of STU's teams once again affirms the reputation and quality of education the Faculty of Food Technology provides, particularly Saigon Technology University (STU). STU consistently prioritizes and provides the best conditions for its lecturers and students, enabling them to bridge theory with practice, access new technologies and processes, and meet the demands of businesses. This approach lays a solid foundation for students as they embark on their professional development journey.
