Ministry recruits local candidates for Chinese scholarships

Update 21/02/2013 - 08:49:42 AM (GMT+7)

The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training is receiving applications for 29 full scholarships to study undergraduate and graduate courses in China, starting from the 2013-14 academic year.

Majors available to successful candidates include IT and communications, automation technology, agriculture, natural and social sciences, biotechnology, medicine, architecture, arts, and sports, among others.

Scholarship winners will be granted full tuition, health insurance, accommodations by the Chinese government and airfares, travel expenses, passport and visa fees, and a monthly stipend by the Vietnamese government.

Selected candidates are expected to begin their courses, lasting 2 to 6 years, depending on the discipline and level, in September this year.

Applicants are required to have a clean record and high ethical standards, and must be committed to returning to Vietnam for work when they complete their training programs.

Those who cannot speak Chinese will be enrolled in a one-year foundation course to learn the language before starting their main curricula. Candidates whose command of English is up to par will begin their studies immediately without having to take the foundation course.

Applications must be submitted online at http://tuyensinh.vied.vn and in hard copy to the ministry’s Vietnam International Education Development office at 21 Le Thanh Tong Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi by March 10.

Detailed information on the scholarships can be found at http://vied.vn/vn/content/thongbao/tuyensinh/thong-bao-tuyen-sinh-di-hoc-tai-trung-quoc-nam-2013_36914.aspx.
