Two Vietnamese societies in the UK are calling for Vietnamese entrants to a virtual stock exchange competition which will be taking place in that kingdom between November 19 and February 23.
VietSoc City University and VietPro, the organizers of the Student Investment Challenge (SIC) 2012, have announced that they will accept applications for the competition via sicvn2012@gmail.com until November 16.
Participants will compete in groups of 3 to 5 members throughout two rounds of the contest, which will award a total cash prize of £2,000 (US$3,196) to its winners, they say.
Contenders will have a chance to trade stocks listed on the London Stock Exchange with a virtual cash amount, according to competition regulations.
The first round will last for 10 weeks till January 26 while five teams that earn the most return on their investment will compete in the final on January 23.
The winners will be chosen by a judge panel which is composed of seasoned financial and stock experts coming from leading businesses.
First held in 2010, SIC is intended to be an intellectual playground for Vietnamese students who are studying in the UK and interested in finance.
