Ha Nam-based Vietnam University of Commerce unveiled

The Ha Nam provincial People's Committee and Hanoi-based Vietnam University of Commerce on September 19 held a ceremony to unveil the Vietnam University of Commerce in Ha Nam in the presence of Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan. 

The establishment of the Ha Nam-based university aims to expand the scale of education and training of the Hanoi-based university and meet the training requirements of the province and region.

The Ha Nam-based University of Commerce was upgraded from the former School of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology I with all of its existing facilities handed over to the University of Commerce.

Addressing the ceremony, Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan congratulated the Vietnam University of Commerce for its development and expansion, expressing the hope that it would become one of the leading universities in Vietnam.

Head of the Vietnam University of Commerce Dinh Van Son said the facilities of the Ha Nam-based university will be upgraded further to meet the requirements of the university and enhance human resource training in the locality.

Secretary of Ha Nam provincial Party Committee Mai Tien Dung said the establishment of the university is inline with the province's strategy on investment attraction, helping to meet the need for qualified human resources in the province and the region in general.

The Hanoi-based Vietnam University of Commerce was established 55 years ago and it is currently providing an extensive training programme including 18 undergraduate majors, five Master's degree majors and five PhD majors.
