The US government-funded Fulbright Program in Vietnam is accepting applications for its 2014 Vietnamese Scholar Program (VSP).

VSP, one of the four traditional components of the Fulbright Program, annually provides grants to seven to ten Vietnamese scholars to lecture and/or research at American institutions or universities for three to nine months.

Successful applicants will be provided with a stipend, living expenses, health and accident insurance for the full term of the grant, and also transportation to and from the US.

Candidates must be Vietnamese citizens, hold an MA or PhD degree, and possess adequate English skills to conduct their research and/or lectures in America.

Priority will be given to scholars in Higher Education Administration, Law, Public Administration, Urban Planning & Development, Environmental Studies & Policy, Foreign Policy, Public Health, American Studies, Women’s Studies, and Economics.

The VSP actively encourages women, minorities and residents from all provinces and cities to apply, and it is open to all candidates who qualify through open competition on the basis of academic and professional merit without regard to race, religion, gender or affiliation.

The US-based Council for the International Exchange of Scholars will help place the scholars at appropriate host institutions in the United States.

The deadline for applications is October 15.
