A university in the central city of Da Nang awarded Tuesday an honorary doctoral degree on a German doctor in recognition of his contributions to the healthcare sector in Vietnam.
The University of Da Nang presented the degree to Professor-Doctor Robert Dalla Pozza who has provided expertise and assistance in cardiology to the Da Nang general hospital, the medicine-pharmacy department of the higher learning institution, and the country’s health services in general.
Prof. Pozza, 44, graduated from an Austrian medical school in 1994 and is working as a consultant pediatric cardiologist at the Dr von Haunersches Kinderspital (University Children’s Hospital), Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich, Germany.
His research fields include new, non-invasive diagnostic methods in pediatric cardiology, the development of therapeutic strategies for the prevention of cardiovascular disease in high-risk patients, the follow-up of heart- and heart-lung-transplanted children, and others.
He has published eighty-six articles in international journals so far, including Clinical Cardiology, Clinical Transplantation, Pediatric Transplantation, the European Journal of Pediatrics, among others.
